The Daily Lie is a free daily word game — Wordle with a twist. You still guess a five-letter word and read green, yellow and grey clues, but one tile in every row is lying: it deliberately shows the wrong colour. A fake green can send you down the wrong path; a lying grey can hide the letter you need. You get eight guesses, and the real game is working out which clue not to trust.
Type any valid five-letter word and press enter. Green means a letter claims to be in the right spot, yellow claims it is in the word but misplaced, grey claims it is out — but exactly one of those five claims per row is false. Cross-examine your rows: when two rows contradict each other, one of them lied, and everything else in that row must be true. Tap a tile to accuse it, catch the liars for a perfect detective score, and use Interrogate to force one tile to confess. Your winning guess is always honest.
Like all the best daily puzzle games, there is one word per day — the same word, with the same lies, for everyone. Come back daily to build your streak, compare results with friends, and share your grid without spoilers. If you enjoy Wordle, Quordle, Waffle or Connections and want a word game that fights back, this is your daily appointment.
Guess the word in 8 tries. Feedback works exactly like the word games you know — except one tile in every row shows the wrong colour. Even greens can be fake. Your winning guess is always honest.
Tap a revealed tile to accuse it (one suspect per row). Catch the liars for a perfect detective score.
🔍 Interrogate makes one tile confess whether it's honest or the liar — one per puzzle. Interrogated rows don't count toward your detective score.
New puzzle every day — same word, same lies, for everyone.
